To Grandmother's House We Go

So, in case you didn't know 3 1/2 months is the new 10 years old. My sweet little independent boy is on his first trip to Grandma's house all by himself! Owen and Rebekah left yesterday morning to go to my parents' house, where I will join them Saturday morning.

I will not tell a lie, I was/am a little nervous about the whole expedition. But, I feel better knowing that he is with Bekah, who keeps him half the week, and my mom, who he loves just a little bit.

Andy was at work last night and Owen was at Grandma's. It was kind of weird last night having the bed all to myself. There was no one there to steal covers, spit up on me, wake me up with midnight snack demands, or make me so hot that I sweat (sleeping with two boys is like sleeping with two furnaces!). But, there was also no one to snuggle with and I kind of missed waking up to this smile.....

Hope everyone has a good weekend! Owen is having his first Phillips Family Christmas, it is sure to be a good time!

Christmas is Creeping Up

So, Christmas is creeping up on us way faster than I thought it would. I looked at the blog and realized I have not posted since Thanksgiving and Christmas is now only a week away!

In those few weeks we have been to Fredericksburg, Owen went to his first winery, we climbed Enchanted Rock, he met the Evans family for the first time ever, had his Grandma B come babysit him, finished Christmas shopping, baked holiday goodies, and so much more. Guess how many pictures of these events I am going to post? ZERO!! at least not right now, because for some reason I cannot seem to get everything together enough to load the pictures from the camera onto my computer!

So, you will have to be appeased by these photos from our Christmas Card session with world famous photographer Grandpa Gary. They turned out so great!

Merry Christmas!! I promise to post again a lot sooner than I did this past time, I just might shock you all with my rapid speed.

Oh, and some good news the blog should now be fixed so that anyone can comment. So, comment away!

Hef and Becilia

This past weekend Rebekah, Owen, and I took a trip up to Walnut Springs. My cousin was down for the weekend from Oklahoma, so we went up so that she could have her first meeting with Owen.

Amber Cecilia, who I lovingly call Becilia, was definitely charmed by our little man. And really, who can resist him when he is wearing his robe and slippers? We like to call him Hugh Hefner when he wears this look! He is such the ladies man the nickname fits him to a tee.

Taylor and Owen spent time in the kitchen sink together getting cleaned up for church the next day. Taylor seemed a little peeved that Owen was taking up the majority of her prime splashing water, but all in all they had a good time. Little bathing babies are soo cute!

We leave tonight for our Thanksgiving travels. I am sure that we will have lots and lots of cute pictures coming out of this trip!
I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Love,
Andy, Angela, and Owen

Cousins

There are times in your life when you really just need someone. I am so thankful that I have such great siblings and someday I hope Owen can say the same thing. I am also really thankful for some really awesome cousins. They are people that I know I can always call on and they will share my hurt or my happiness with me.

When we first found out we were expecting Owen I was excited for a number of reasons, but one thing that had me really excited was knowing that he would have a cousin so close to his age.

The first time that Taylor Grace met her little cousin all of us who witnessed it almost melted because her reaction was so sweet. She was so excited and could not wait to get her hands on him!

Here they are looking super sweet in their matching outfits...

As the weeks have went by their recognition and awareness of each other becomes more sweet and more hilarious. Owen loves to look at Taylor and Taylor loves to grab, lick, kick Owen (all in a loving manner, of course!).

Last Friday the crazy duo went and had Christmas photos taken in their super cute Christmas outfits their Grandma Barbara bought them. The photographer did not know what she was in for! Taking a photo of a 2 1/2 month old and a 8 1/2 month old proved to be VERY challenging! The efforts of the photographer, Chelsy, and myself ultimately paid off and we got a keeper!

I cannot wait to watch them grow together. It makes me smile and laugh when I think of all the great adventures they will have together. And it makes my heart warm to know that they both have a special person they will be able to call on, no matter what.

Finally! We are up and running...

Who would have thought that it would take me going back to work to get this going? Of course, I had grand plans of all the things I was going to get done on my maternity leave. I believe I had about 10 projects I wanted to get completed, or started.

Guess how many I got done? ZERO! That's right, zero. Who knew that infants were so demanding of your time? I don't know what I was thinking in my pre-infant bliss. I really believed my maternity leave would be like this great multiple week vacation. Ha, vacation.

But, none of that matters. Projects, a clean house, ironed clothes - none of this matters once you have a willing subject you can put a ridiculous wig on!

I will post more soon!

Leave me a comment to let me know who has been here. If you have your own blog, leave me the link! Hopefully, this will be a way for us to keep in touch with all of our friends and family.
