1+2= 3&4

Hey! So, it has been a while. I can't believe it was Halloween when I last posted! In my own defense we have had just a bit going on since then. On to the news... Oh, and forgive me there are no pictures this time but I promise to get some up soon!

Of course we had Thanksgiving and had a blast.

Owen had his first haircut, he looks like such a little boy now!

We are in the process of trying to sleep train Owen. Please pray for us!

Our Christmas decorations are up and we are learning that standing very close to the tree and having it touch you is still touching the tree. As well as swinging a bat around and having it hit the tree "on accident" is still touching the tree. All in all Owen has been really good with all the newness and festivities in the house.

So, the biggest newsbyte - We are going to be a family of FOUR! Yup, a week or two before Halloween we found out we are expecting baby number 2. Andy and I are super excited and Owen of course has no idea what is going on. I am right around 11 weeks at this moment, due date is July 1st!

Things that are different this time around:
*I am not as sick as I was with Owen. Yay!
*I already can't button (ok, ok, or zip) my pants. Yikes! Hopefully this is just an early growth spurt.
*No time fro naps. This is sad. But actually I am finding I don't seem as tired as I was with Owen. At least not yet.

Things that are the same:
*In real life I love food. Fancy food, exotic food, any kind of food. For some reason though in pregnant life I am always hungry for two types of food: Mexican ( I eat Rosa's like 3 times a week. Don't tell Andy!) and what I call 2nd Grader food. This includes, mac & cheese from the box, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chicken nuggets, and yes I even ate a lunchable the other day. But I can promise you that won't be happening again!
*I have an very strong disliking of cheese.
*I am a horrible sleeper.
*I am overly emotional. Really, I cried at Handy Manny on Saturday morning. Andy and Owen both laughed.

I am excited and looking forward to the next couple months! Now if you will excuse me there is a poptart calling my name!

More Treats than Tricks

Here is about 3 blog posts in one, Enjoy!

Last night was Halloween and Owen LOVED it! I was uncertain whether or not he would like the trick or treating idea. Like was the wrong word, he loved it. He did not want to come back in the house!

Here are some pictures of our Wild Little Indian.

In other October news: Owen went to his first high school football game.

And, he and Taylor enjoyed Grandma & Grandpa's back yard.

While in his own smaller backyard he has been sharpening his driving skills.

"Hey, would you like a ride?"

Unfortunately, he has a bit of road rage!

Owen's 1 Year Photo Shoot

In early September we had Owen's 1 year photo session. As always, he was pretty cooperative. His favorite part was the end when we took some photos with cake.

Enjoy!!

Hey Dad!

Hey Dad! (This is the line we hear quite a few times a day from Owen. Usually when he is talking on the phone or going to the door to see if anyone has shown up at the house unannounced.)

Have you missed us????

Things have been CRAZY. I haven't even posted photos from his birthday party! Well, I promise to do that soon. We had great fun at the party. The past few weeks have been busy with playing with new toys, trying to clean the house (and keep it clean!), visits with family and friends, work, and other stuff I cannot even remember.

The following photos were taken with my blackberry, thus poor quality but super cute subject.

Drinking his goldfish from his snack cup.

Participating in very unsafe doll cart races with Taylor.
He has a need for speed.

Playing in Grandpa Gary's sprinkler.
Doesn't he look like a little farmer?

Channeling his inner McConaughey and being one with nature.

Ready for a ride.
*Please note that he is sitting in the wagon.
This only lasts until we are out of the driveway.
He then proceeds to stand up and act like he is surfing on pavement.

Oh yeah, and the little Rascal started school today! Here is the newest student at Sonshine School. I think he might get voted the Cutest!

4 Days and Counting....

Just a few more days until our little one turns one!

Here is a little video to bring a smile, and maybe a laugh, to your day.

5 days and counting...

Let's all pretend this was posted last night instead of this morning. Also, the pictures in this post have no relation to the content. They are just some of my favorites. Shhhh......

No matter where I take the boy-child, all his almost-year old life people have commented on his personality. Friends, families, and strangers seem to gravitate towards him. If you haven't met him in "real life" I can't wait until you can because it is true he has some kind of awesome people power.

I am not entirely sure where he gets it. Andy and I like to be around friends, but in truth around strangers we are a little more reserved. Not Owen.

We think it might be some genes that are making their way via Grandma Rose, Grandma Barbara, and Aunt Rebekah. Three of the most social ladies I have ever met. None of them have ever met a stranger. You should try going shopping with the three of them! You will here approximately 4 to 5 life stories of fellow shoppers and cashiers before you can leave a store!

Anyways, the boy has charm. It is one my most favorite things about him. When we go to the grocery store I usually allocate around 15 extra minutes for all the schmoozing he likes to do with the fellow shoppers. The funny thing is, he does not discriminate based on age or gender. Grandpas, grandmas, college girls, moms with toddlers, bachelors, college guys.... it does not matter he would love to talk it up with you and help you with your problems.

He is quite a guy.

6 days and counting...

On Friday our little man will turn 1. It is hard to believe that he has been here for a whole year! We certainly don't know what we would do without him. It is amazing how many things he has learned how to do in a year, and how much his personality has developed.

For the next six days I am going to be adventourous and blog a new post each day. Each post will be about something that makes Owen, Owen.

So, to start off - his love for food.

The boy has not met a food he doesn't like. He will eat anything and everything and the more seasoned the better!

He gets very excited at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks...

We are now in the process of trying to learn how to use utensils and he is actually doing pretty good.

His favorite foods? Berries, berries, pears, watermelon, did I mention berries? He also loves tomatoes, hominy, polenta, beans (it doesn't matter the kind) and guacamole. Aunt Rebekah calls him her Little Forager.

He has pretty much shunned all baby food. And he will only let you feed him if it is something off of your plate.

His latest discovery? Havarti cheese. He LOVES it, and probably would eat a whole package if I let him. Andy and I just hope he stays such an adventurous eater!

I asked him to smile for the camera and this is what he gave me...

Such a ham! Oh yeah, he loves that too!
